Laboratory of the Body/Performance Art Workshop
Martine Viale is offering intensive workshops to those who are interested in performance art and wish to deepen their artistic process from the starting point of the body as a place of research. Through a rigorous learning process, including some basic principles of japanese Butoh, these workshops focus on the zones of intimacy and the act of presence in the solo work. Using imagery work and a wide variety of experimental situations, participants will develop skills to communicate with the body and transform ideas into a performance work. The emphasis is placed both on solo and group explorations as well as on performance process.

Martine Viale offre des ateliers intensifs aux personnes intéressées par l’art de performance et qui désirent approfondir leur processus de création en partant du corps comme espace de recherche. À travers un processus d’apprentissage rigoureux, incluant certains principes de base du Butoh japonais, l’accent est mis sur les zones d’intimités et sur l’acte de présence dans l’action solo. Utilisant l’imagerie mentale et un ensemble infini de situations expérimentales, les participants développeront des outils pour communiquer avec le corps et transformer des idées dans une structure de performance.
